Buhari Has Authorise Sale Of Two Presidential Aircrafts Due To Recession

Finally, President Muhammadu Buhari has given approval for the sale of two presidential aircraft, a Falcon 7x executive jet and Hawker 4000 from the Presidential Air Fleet, PAF.

This was in the fulfilment of his 2015 election campaign promises of selling off many of the airplanes to reduce cost if elected as president.
More of the aircraft would also be sold in the coming days.

Recall that Controversy had trailed the promise in the past as to whether the president would live up to his words.
Presidency sources confirmed that PAF contains 10 aircrafts which affected the nation’s revenue.

The aircraft included Boeing Business Jet (Boeing 737-800 or AirForce One), one Gulfstream 550, one Gulfstream V (Gulfstream 500), two Falcons 7X, one Hawker Sidley 4000, two AgustaWestland AW 139 helicopters and two AgustaWestland AW 101 helicopters.

In readiness to dispose the machines, the presidency yesterday put out some advertorial, announcing the sales.
Reacting afterwards to the authenticity of the advertorials, the Senior Special Assistant on media and publicity to president Buhari, Mallam Grana Shehu said that indeed, the president made the approval for the sale.

He recalled that it was in line with the APC election campaign promises in 2015, stressing that the development would help save more money for the country.
“The newspaper advertisements for the sale of two Presidential aircraft, a Falcon 7x executive jet and Hawker 4000 were duly authorised by the Presidency.

“This is in line with the directive of President Muhammadu Buhari that aircraft in the Presidential air fleet be reduced to cut down on waste.
“When he campaigned to be President, the then APC candidate Muhammadu Buhari, if you recall, promised to look at the presidential air fleet with view to cutting down on waste.

“His directive to a government committee on this assignment is that he liked to see a compact and reliable aircraft for the safe airlift of the President, the Vice President and other government officials that go on special missions.

“This exercise is by no means complete.
“I am sure the Commander of the Presidential air fleet will any time from now, call you to a ceremony at which he will hand over some other aircraft to the Airforce for their operations”, Shehu explained in a statement yesterday.

Angry Manchester United Player Reveals Club’s Crisis

Famous Manchester United playmaker states that Mourinho’s side must not let their frustrating performance stop them believing.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho in contract talks with midfielder Juan Mata. Despite having two years left on his current deal United he is ready to extend it. However, it should be recalled that Mata previously was sold by Mourinho from Chelsea. And probably the coach has already made a decision.

Media reports claimed Mourinho was looking to sell Mata when he arrived at Old Trafford in the summer. However, the midfielder has been a regular in the side, scoring twice in six games.
United recovered after a tough eight-day spell with three consecutive defeats with victories over Northampton Town, Leicester and Zorya prior to last weekend’s EPL encounter.

And Mata reacted: “I’m feeling angry because the team played really well but we didn’t win. It was a pity, that’s the truth. My perception from the pitch was that we were playing a good game, creating chances, passing the ball effectively, but we couldn’t complete our job. We have to take the positive aspects and know that if we keep playing like this, we will definitely get good results.”

He continued: “Against Stoke, the team was full of confidence and we wanted to keep the good streak. We did it in terms of football and the way we played, but not in the score. With only one point instead of three we are not in the best mood to take the international break, but we are aware that, at our level, everything is possible this season.”

He added: “We have five games in October that are very important and we will give our best to make it a good month. Manchester United has always had challenges and the one we have this season is still there. Many times in sport you must learn to accept those games when, even if you do many things well, you don’t win. That is football, and that’s why it’s such a nice and exciting sport.”

Mata concluded: “We’ll be back to the competition in two weeks [against Liverpool] in Anfield. It’s a massive game and we are looking forward to start working on it.”

Relationship Tips:Here Are 10 Confirmed Signs Your Spouse Is Cheating On You

It is heart wrenching to witness beloved friends having to live their worst nightmare as they discover their spouse has been selfish and unfaithful.

Here are 10 of the most common signs that your spouse is cheating:

1. Frequent Change Of Passwords

If you notice your spouse changing their email, cell phone, computer or social media passwords more than usual, chances are they are trying to hide something.

2. Social Media Profiles

If a spouse is unfaithful, they will most likely make their social media profiles look very “single.” Updating their profile picture to a solo shot or a picture with friends and hiding photos of you as a couple should be a big red flag.

Also take notice if there is an obvious increase in the amount of time your spouse spends on social networks each day.

3. Phone Habits

A healthy relationship is an open one. When your spouse answers the phone and immediately moves to a room where you cannot overhear the conversation, watch out.

Unless they are planning a surprise birthday party for you, your spouse should feel comfortable talking to anyone on the phone in front of you.

4. Decreased Or Increased Desire For Intimacy

In some cases the desire for s*x may decrease since the cheater is already getting their pleasure outside the home.
However, there is also the possibility that his or her interest in having s*x may increase, because of feelings of guilt.

5. Cleared History

A big sign that someone is being unfaithful is when you find their computer or phone history cleared regularly.
Though your spouse might be doing this for security reasons, it is more likely that they are trying to “cover their tracks.”

6. Increase In Social Activities

Take note when your spouse starts attending more social gatherings alone. A guys’ night out or a business party are commonly used cover-ups.

7. Increase The Extra Costs

If it seems you are a little tighter on money at the end of the month than normal, look at where your extra money is going.
Cheaters will often take out cash to make it more difficult to track where they have spent the money.

8. Physical Appearance

Be careful not to jump to conclusions with this one. Your spouse’s newfound desire to be more physically attractive might be a result of trying to look more professional for work, or maybe they are just trying to catch your eye.

However, if you have noticed any of the other signs on this list, you may have a problem. When seeking a new relationship or adventure, people usually take extra care in managing their outward appearance.

9. Blame You For Everything

No matter if something happened at work or away from home, they find a way to blame you and make you feel lousy.

10. Increase In Gifts

Spouses who are being unfaithful will often try to cover their guilt with splurges of gifts. If you are surprised by the sudden amount of attention and gifts your spouse is giving you, you might want find out what the motive behind them is.

Didier Deschamps- Be Patient With Pogba

Paul Pogba needs time to adjust to life back at Manchester United, according to his France boss Didier Deschamps.

The world’s most expensive footballer has had a mixed start to his second spell at Old Trafford, winning the man-of-the-match award as champions Leicester were beaten 4-1 last month, but missing two clear chances against Stoke at the weekend.

Pogba is with France for their upcoming World Cup Qualifiers against Bulgaria and the Netherlands, and Deschamps has thrown a protective arm around his star midfielder.
“He has changed his club team and needs to find his bearing with his new team-mates,” Deschamps said.

“With Paul, we always expect more. When he does something neutral, often it is not enough. He is someone we expect to make assists in every game – there is an expectation that is too large.
“Paul is okay in his own head. He knows what he wants.”

Pogba has been paired with Ander Herrera in United’s two most recent Premier League games, and Jose Mourinho spoke at the weekend of his confidence in the partnership.

“Ander can be an important player for us,” he said, “because we play with four attacking players plus Paul who likes a lot to go to different positions, to try and create.

“How Nigerian Leaders Send Their Girlfriends To Paris To Do Their Hair” – Former Minister

A former minister of mines and steels during the first republic Maitama Sule has said that the discovery of oil in Nigeria comes as both a blessing and a curse.

Leadership reports that the Sule who is also the Dan Maisani of Kano accused corrupt leaders of using proceeds from Nigeria’s oil resource to live extravagant lifestyles.

He said these corrupt leaders – most of them who own oil wells – divert billions of naira which are supposed to be remitted to the government to their individual foreign accounts.
He also said these leaders specialize in sending their girlfriends to make their hair in Paris, shop in London and have holidays in New York.

“I succeeded the late Ribadu as petroleum minister who was the minister of Defence, Mines, Power and in charge of oil and so I remained in oil sector from 1959 to 1966,” Sule said.
Sule said these leaders build mansions in ghettos where there are no access road and purchase luxurious limousines only to drive them on the rough and dusty roads of Nigeria all with stolen money.

Noting that hopes for the exploration of oil in Nigeria was dashed after the first exploring companies could not find it, the former minister however said that Shell was the first oil company to start exploration after its discovery.

He said for some reasons the oil exploration companies coupled with some contractual amendments, later returned after vacating the site and fortunately for Nigeria they announced the discovery of oil in commercial quantity.
It was as a result of that meeting, series of discussions and agreements that Agip agreed to come to Nigeria and compete with the seven other oil companies then.

Dangote- I Won’t Buy National Assets Even If They Are Offered To Me On Credit.

Following the outcry that has trailed the advocacy for the sale of the country’s national assets as a quick measure to fund the 2016 budget and boost the country’s foreign exchange reserves, the President/Chief Executive of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, has dismissed insinuations that his advocacy for the sale of the assets was self-serving, saying he was not interested in any of the assets.

Dangote, who spoke in an exclusive interview with ThisDay , stressed that if the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) Company or any other national asset was offered to him, even on credit, he would not be interested in acquiring them.

Dangote, who is Africa’s richest man, said his advocacy for the government to sell down some of its interest in some of the national assets was to help boost the economy as well as to stabilise the naira exchange rate, which has been under attack in the past few days.

According to him, he offered his proposal as a way out of Nigeria’s present economic recession because he is “a true Nigerian who really wants the issues about the economy to be sorted out”.
He added: “You know the issue, once your reserves are low, the banks, entrepreneurs, including external forces, would definitely attack your currency. They would speculate on your currency.

“We all know that the exchange rate of almost N500 to the dollar is not a true reflection of the value of the currency – the naira cannot be almost N500 to the dollar!
“But you see, if this thing is not handled properly, it can get out of hand. It can get to N600 to the dollar, or even N700 to the dollar.

“But the issue is, why did I suggest that we should sell some of the assets? I know the touchy one is the NLNG. I want to make it categorically clear that even if the government is selling NLNG on credit, I am not interested in buying.

“I don’t have any interest in NLNG and I will not buy it. It is not a business that I want to invest in. It is a mature business; that is what people don’t understand.
“You see, we should have invested heavily in all these Brass LNG, Olokola LNG, etc, when former President Olusegun Obasanjo started work on the projects, but we missed the opportunity.

“Today, you have massive LNG projects that have been done by Qatar, Australia and the United States is also exporting. But right now, all the gas that we have is even in the ground. Even Mozambique has a massive amount of gas and also Tanzania, and they are nearer to the markets than we are.
“So, if somebody is even going to invest in LNG, he would go to those areas and invest there and not here in Nigeria, because the investment here daunting. So my own suggestion is that even if we must sell, it doesn’t have to be 100 per cent of our interest in NLNG.”

Dangote maintained that even if NLNG was bringing in $1.5 billion into the federal government’s coffers, once the government reduces its stake in the company and it is run more professionally, Nigeria would generate more funds from it.

“People are just saying it is better to go and borrow, but I don’t know where they are coming from. You see, with borrowing, if I have issues with my business today, the bankers who would lend me the money would want to see me doing something first to see how the business can survive. There would be conditionalities.

“But if you are not shedding weight, how do you expect somebody to help you with funding? You have to start first by trying to shed weight and showing the person (lender) who wants to help you with the assets you want to sell,” he explained.
Dangote maintained that Nigeria requires about $15 billion to jumpstart its economy, saying that if the amount were added to Nigeria’s foreign exchange reserves of about $25 billion, this would help attract foreign investors.

“I can assure you that if our forex reserves get to $40 billion, you will be shocked at how people will reject even buying dollars. So, is it worth it for us to keep assets that we are not using? Even the oil assets that I am suggesting for sale, they are not the producing assets. We have a lot of non-producing assets.

“The producing assets only form about 73 per cent of Nigeria’s portfolio. We can also unlock shut-in oil production because today we are losing about 700,000 barrels, be it through negotiations or whatever with the militants. These 700,000 barrels can easily give us about $1 billion a month. So, I am not saying that you should touch the producing assets.

“I am talking about the sale of the marginal fields and all those non-producing and capped oil wells that we have not even touched in the last 50 years. They have not been touched at all. They are there, just dormant.

“These assets form about 14.7 per cent of Nigeria’s portfolio. Some of those assets were bought by Shell and others. These are assets that you are not earning anything from.

“But the moment that you put these assets into use, the money that you will start getting from them, we will be talking about an additional $4 billion to $8 billion, and you can go and borrow money against that,” he added.

For Ladies! These Are 5 Surprising Signs Your Man’S Sperm Count Is Low

Low sperm count in men can be a really frustrating thing especially for men trying for a baby. These are certain things to watch out for to tell your man’s state.

Women are naturally drawn to men with deep voices because a macho tone reminds them of all things manly. And while talking like Barry White packs its fair share of benefits, it could also mean bad news for your sperm.

A new study from the University of Western Australia found that guys with a low-pitched voice had reduced concentrations of sperm in ejaculations.
The possible connection: “Testosterone, which deepens a man’s voice, also suppresses sperm production when it’s at high levels,” says lead researcher Leigh Simmons, Ph.D., an evolutionary biology professor at Western Australia.

Meanwhile, the pitch of your voice isn’t the only health clue your body is sending you.
Here are five other surprising body quirks that may be early signs of health problems.

1. Finger Length

As Men’s Health previously reported, size matters—when it comes to your fingers.
A study published in the British Journal of Cancer found that men whose index fingers were longer than their ring fingers were 33 percent less likely to develop prostate cancer.

As it turns out, people who have longer index fingers were exposed to less testosterone when they were a baby in their mother’s womb, researchers say. This may help protect against prostate cancer later on.

2. Nail Color

Healthy nails are usually smooth and spotless, but “redness under your fingernails can be a sign of a collagen vascular disease like lupus,” says Neil SaD!ck, M.D., a clinical professor of dermatology at Weill Cornell Medical College.

“It gives you inflammation of the blood vessels, and that can present as redness or blood vessels under the nail itself.”
Research has also found that white nails are linked with liver issues, and unusual curvatures can even be a sign of lung cancer.

3. Earlobe Wrinkles

Diagonal creases on your earlobes may be a sign of potential cardiovascular problems, according to a study from the University of Chicago.
Researchers found participants with a crease (and no prior coronary artery disease) were nearly eight times more likely to experience cardiac events as those without.

Earlobes may give a reflective health warning because of the similarities between the blood vessels that supply the earlobes and the heart, researchers speculate. Or creases may just be a result of aging.

4. Sense of Smell

The inability to identify certain orders may be a warning sign of Parkinson’s Disease.
A study led by the Institute for Neurodegenerative Disorders and the University of Pennsylvania found that when given a small test, patients with Parkinson’s could only correctly identify half of the smells presented.

An additional study in the Annals of Neurology found that this impaired sense of smell can predate Parkinson’s by about 4 years.

Although going bald is natural, it could also be a clue to more serious conditions. “Hair loss can be a sign of thyroid disease or thyroid cancer,”
“If you have an overactive thyroid, or a thyroid that’s not functioning well, you can get hair loss as a presenting sign of it.”

Hypothyroidism may also manifest itself in unusual thinning of the eyebrows. Plus, “sometimes men can have very fine hairs along their temples early in life, and that can be a sign of impending genetic hair loss,” says SaDick

“Nigeria Has Money, But We The Leaders Are Wasteful” – Ex-Governor Peter Obi Opens Up

Former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, has lamented the country’s economic crisis and laid the blame on public office holders.

Speaking at The Platform organized by Covenant Christian Center, Obi charged Nigerians to stop celebrating criminality (thief politicians), saying there is enough money for all Nigerians.
Obi, who spoke on the topic: Cutting cost in governance, said he saved over N75b for Anambra.

He said he saved $50m and N7b in Access bank, $55m and N10b in Fidelity bank, and $155.4m in Diamond bank.
According to him, spending habit of most governors is what is causing poverty, adding that the states can still function on their income and still save money.

On calls to borrow money to boost the economy, Obi said “There is nothing wrong with borrowing. The crisis we are facing is that we do not know what we are using the money we are borrowing for. Nigeria can make good use of the money if the leaders reduce spending.”

He asked Governors to spend less on running their offices and maintaining their aides.
Continuing, Obi said: “Do away with unconstitutional office of the First Lady. Reduce Governor’s cars to 2, instead of 6 bullet-proof cars. Reduce government house jeeps instead of 25 jeeps.”

Peter Obi recalled that it used to cost him and his contingent N10m per trip to Abuja when he travels.
Obi said he later cut down the expenses, because he found out that over 30 people who had nothing to do in Abuja were going with him.

“When Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo wanted to come to Anambra state, they were supposed to used N500m to construct a presidential lodge, but I asked the President to sleep in my house through-out his stay,” he said.
But will those occupying these offices listen?

Super Eagles captain, Mikel John Obi has reassured Nigerian football fans that he and his team-mates are fit and ready to play the 2018 World Cup qualifier against Zambia at the Levy Nwanawasa Stadium in Ndola, Zambia on Sunday.

Recession: Top 4 Solutions Proposed By Dino Melaye

As Nigeria marks the 56th anniversary of her independence, the leadership at all levels of governance must begin to sacrifice more to serve both as an example and an inspiration to the citizenry to bond together and pull the nation out of the current economic recession, Senator Dino Melaye (Kogi West) has declared.

In his anniversary message in Abuja , Melaye urged Nigerians not to despair yet, but to continue to support the federal government in her determined effort to pull the nation out of the recession.

He also called on Nigerians to continue to show resolve by seeking common ground to face the difficult economic realities with unity of purpose.

Naijaloaded has compiled six solutions Melaye has proferred to the current economic crisis bedeviling the nation which if implemented are capable of fast-tracking our way out of the recession.

1. As a means of addressing the dwindling state of revenues accruing to the federal government which is adversely affecting the implementation of the 2016 budget, deliberate effort must be made to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) into the country. This can be achieved by improving the security situation in the North East and the Niger Delta since no serious investor will put his his resources in a climate where insecurity is a daily fare.

2. The government must also devise ways to pacify the Niger Delta Avengers and other militant groups in the region through a very creative, robust and efficient amnesty programme. This programme must also be implemented simultaneously with a robust and sincere “Marshall Plan” for the development of the region. Sustainable peace in the Niger Delta would lead to the security of oil installations, boost oil and gas among others.

3. The diversification of the economy away from the current mainstay-oil, to agriculture and manufacturing must also be pursued more aggressively if Nigeria must be pulled out of the recession in the shortest time possible.

4. Relevant laws must be reviewed and new ones enacted to give states and local governments higher stakes and autonomy in the exploration and exploitation of solid minerals in their domains. This will breed competition amongst states and local governments, create jobs, boost the local economy and reduce unemployment, crime and other associated social vices”.

“Buhari Was In A Hurry As Military Ruler, But Now Slow And Steady In Governance” – Tinubu Says

The national leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has drawn a comparison between President Muhammadu Buhari’s time as a young military head of state and now that he is the president of the country.

He pointed out that while Buhari was in a hurry as a military ruler in the 80’s, the president has become “slow but steady” in his approach to governance “now that he is older and given his experience”.

Tinubu stated this on Monday during the launch of a book — ‘Muhammadu Buhari: The Challenges of Leadership in Nigeria’, written by John Paden, a professor of international studies — at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.

While pointing out that Paden succinctly explained the transition from the Buhari in uniform to one in civilian garb, the former Lagos governor said; “he notes that in terms of style of leadership, Buhari as a young military head of state was in a hurry.

“However, now that he is older and given his experience, he is ‘slow but steady’ in his approach to governance.”
He went on to state that, “During the campaign, he (Buhari) surprised many by his agility and the broad canvas on which he operated.

“In tracing the evolution of Buhari, the national leader, the author’s assertion that military rule is based on the power its holders can wield, while civilian rule is based on the legitimacy derived from elections, is a point with which I dare not debate.

“Buhari’s career embodies this, hence his transition from being a military ruler to being a civilian leader, who subjected himself to the rigors and uncertainty of elections four times. Thrice he patiently went to court, seeking redress from electoral manipulation.

“The author, quite accurately, remarked on the Buhari victory equation, as flowing from Northern grassroots support and coalition-building with the South West as well as with other tendencies.”

Tinubu had recently denied a media report quoting him as saying that Buhari begged him to emerge president in 2015. The ex-governor asserted that the story was concocted by his political enemies.

HIV Cure, Could this be True? Doctors Make Remarkable Breakthrough

Just like Malaria and other similar ailment, the fear of HIV is coming to an end… UK scientists and clinicians working on a groundbreaking trial to test a cure for the HIV infection say they have made remarkable progress after a test patient showed no sign of the virus following treatment.

The research, being carried out by five of Britain’s top universities with NHS support, is combining standard anti-retroviral drugs with a drug that reactivates dormant HIV and a vaccine that induces the immune system to destroy the infected cells.
Antiretoviral drugs alone are highly effective at stopping the virus from reproducing but do not eradicate the disease, so must be taken for life.

Fifty patients are taking part in the trial and early tests on the first person to complete the treatment show no signs of the virus in his blood, the Sunday Times reported.
There is still a long way to go before the treatment can be deemed a success as the virus has previously re-emerged in people thought to have been “cured” and the use of antiretroviral drugs means the researchers cannot be sure the HIV has gone. Nevertheless there is optimism over the findings.

Mark Samuels, the managing director of the National Institute for Health Research Office for Clinical Research Infrastructure, told the Sunday Times: “This is one of the first serious attempts at a full cure for HIV. We are exploring the real possibility of curing HIV. This is a huge challenge and it’s still early days but the progress has been remarkable.”

HIV is able to hide itself from the immune system in dormant cells where highly sophisticated modern testing cannot find it and therefore resist therapy. The treatment endeavours to trick the virus into emerging from its hiding places and then trigger the body’s immune system to recognise it and attack it, an approach that has been called “kick and kill”.

There are approximately 37 million people living with HIV worldwide and about 35 million people have died from the virus.
The difficulty of declaring a patient clear of HIV was illustrated by the case of a girl in Mississippi, who was put on a strong course of antiretroviral drugs within 30 hours of her birth in 2010 after her mother was found to be HIV positive.

Treatment continued until the hospital lost contact with the mother 18 months later. When mother and child reappeared five months later the baby had no detectable virus in her blood, raising hopes that early intervention had cured her, but two years the virus had re-emerged.

The only person believed to have been cured was Timothy Ray Brown, an American treated in Germany. He needed a bone marrow transplant to replace his own cancerous cells with stem cells that would remake his immune system and his doctor found him a donor who was naturally resistant to HIV infection due to a genetic mutation that blocks HIV from entering the cells in the human body.

However, stem cell transplants are difficult and potentially dangerous for the recipient and only undertaken where they can save a life.
