I Warned About Recession When Jonathan Govt Spent ‘Recklessly’ – Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo says he foresaw and warned about Nigeria’s current recession two years ago, but said he was ignored.

Mr. Obasanjo said he was concerned about recession when he saw how “recklessly” the Goodluck Jonathan administration spent the country’s resources.
The former president spoke on Saturday in an Independence Day message at a lecture organised by the Youth Fellowship of Owu Baptist Church, Abeokuta.

“Whoever that has lived to witness the celebration of today should thank God,” he said. “Things are not what they should be, but we should pray that next year will be better than this year. We thank God for those who are alive, we prayed for the souls of those who have laboured for these country and who have passed on to rest in perfect peace.”

Mr. Obasanjo said one of the major issues threatening the peace of Nigeria now is the high level of unemployment.
“Unemployment is a major problem in the country today and if we don’t take care, it will consume all of us. In fact, the rising unemployment is a time bomb,” he said.

The former president recalled how he got five job offers immediately he completed his secondary school education at Baptist Boys High School, Abeokuta.
He said he received offers from the United Africa Company (UAC) and Moore Plantation, Ibadan, among others. He said the situation is different today in the country.

Mr. Obasanjo said the businessman, Aliko Dangote, told him that six Ph.D. holders were among applicants seeking jobs with his company as truck drivers.

Mr. Obasanjo said the high rate of unemployment was responsible for youth restiveness in the country, warning that the situation should be tackled with all the “seriousness” it deserves before it get out of hand.

The former president said the country cannot develop if it pays no attention to agriculture.
“That is why we have to take it as a key of our development else the many educated Nigerians who have no job are like time bomb, sooner than later, it will explode,” he said.

The colour of your urine can indicate one’s health state and point to what goes on inside the body. It’s important to take note of how your urine looks like (note the colour) as well as the sensation when passing it.

The colour of urine can tell if some organs aren’t functioning well, if there’s a deficiency (an indication to improve diet/ load on vitamins) and the general state of being.

For instance if there’s blood in the urine this may point to problems with the kidney, urinary tract, urethra or bladder.

Scholes Criticizes Manchester United’s Attackers, Says Liverpool Could Win Premier League

Former Manchester United midfielder, Paul Scholes has criticised his former club’s attacking options, adding that Liverpool could win the Premier League, after United struggled to a 1-0 win over Zorya Luhansk.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored the only goal in the 69th minute against the Ukrainian side to give Jose Mourinho’s men their first win in the Europa League after a 1-0 defeat to Feyenoord in their first match.

Scholes told BT, “One shot on target probably sums it up.
“They gave United problems on the break.
“United won which is the most important thing, and there were some bits of good play, but the quality in the final third wasn’t what you’d normally associate with this team.”

The 41-year-old former English midfielder suggested that Liverpool could win the Premier League, given their contrasting depth of talent in the final third.
“I was a little bit worried about them defensively, but you have to say [with] the attacking quality they are showing at the minute, they look like they can score goals against anybody.”
Scholes later questioned United’s motivation in Europe, considering that they have a busy fixture list in domestic competitions.

He added, “Maybe the Europa League is something they’re not interested in.
“The manager is passionate on the sidelines and it looks like it’s something he wants to win so he needs to try and transfer that on to the players.”

These Are Sure Ways To Prevent The ATM Machine From ‘Swallowing’ Your Card

It is really frustrating when at the ATM machine, your card gets swallowed. These are some tips to keep in mind to stop such an occurrence.

One of the most embarrassing experiences a bank customer can have while using the Automated Teller Machine is when the machine withholds his/her card without dispensing cash.
The ATM is expected to work like a mobile bank that should enable you to have access to your funds anywhere and anytime you insert your card into the machine.
In as much as the ATM has lots of advantages, its essence can be defeated if it swallows the customer’s card when he needs money.
Here are some ways to protect the ATM from swallowing your card:

Avoid suspicious ATMs:

Some ATMs may not have been properly serviced and may be faulty. If you see some signs that it looks unkempt or abandoned, avoid inserting your card in such machines. Always read instructions on the ATM because most times, there are usually some notes on the machine to inform you that the ATM is faulty and that you should use another one. Some ATMs may also have been tampered with by criminals to steal users’ identities. Don’t be too much in a hurry to try your luck with such ATMs. Look for another ATM to be on a safe side.
Multiple entries of wrong password:
Be careful when typing your password on the ATM because when you make multiple attempts with the wrong password, the ATM may suspect that you stole the card and withhold it to protect the account holder’s fund.

Expired card:

An expired card will not bring out any money from the ATM. If you are trying to withdraw with such a card, the machine can swallow it.

Blocked card:

If you have reported to the bank to block your card because it is lost, but failed to ask your bank to un-block it after you found it, the ATM may swallow the card if you attempt to use it to withdraw money.

Low balance:

If you have a low balance in your account and you are still attempting to withdraw money, the ATM can swallow your card.
Remove your card immediately after
transaction:
When the ATM gives you a message to remove your card and you fail to remove it on time, it may swallow it thinking that you have forgotten it or that it is now an abandoned card.

Damaged card:

If your card is damaged, broken or the magnetic strip has been affected, the ATM will not be able to read the card but will have to seize it.

Stopped card:

If the card has been reported as missing, or the bank has placed a stop order on it, the ATM can seize it if you make an attempt to use it to withdraw money.

Wrongly inserting your card:

You need to follow the arrow sign on your debit card and insert it into the ATM correctly. If you insert your card wrongly, the ATM may swallow it instead of returning it back to you.
Wrong card:
Some ATMs do not recognise some card providers. This happens a lot when you travel abroad. If you use your card on such ATMs, they can swallow it.

Mourinho Regrets Premier League’s ‘Poisoned Gift’

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has lamented his side’s schedule of games in October.

United are expected to face Liverpool, Fenerbahce, Chelsea and Manchester city in nine days next month. Mourinho admits he is unhappy with the club’s schedule of matches, insisting they could have played on other days.

He said: ‘We could play Liverpool on the Saturday, we could play Liverpool on the Sunday but we play Liverpool on the Monday,’
‘We have this kind of poisoned gift of playing on Monday which creates a very difficult situation but we want to try to qualify for the next round.

‘There’s a long way to go but we will play against Fenerbahce with a good team.’
The Premier League has often been criticised for its schedule of matches due to the fact that most clubs involved in European competitions have to play quite a number of games within a short space.

Coming in a close second was good looks followed by a guy’s education, profession and finally his income.

In an exclusive interview with Daily Star Online, a Superdrug spokesperson said: “Being able to carry a conversation, sharing common interests and having personality can be the difference between an awkward, uncomfortable dinner date and really hitting it off.

“Overwhelmingly ‘personality’ came back as the number one asset vetted before changing a relationship status.
“The second-leading dating factor was ‘looks’ likely because the first things we notice about a person is his or her appearance: height, style and attractiveness.

“These two elements ranked far above the other three options (education, profession, and income).
“While still relevant, they didn’t seem to matter nearly as much as other surface-level traits.”

Exclusive- Popular Award Show In Nigeria Headies Might NOT Hold In 2016!!

Popular award show in Nigeria, Headies might not take place this year, 2016.

Luyukab blog can not independently confirm yet, but sources have revealed the organizers of the event are having reservations of holding the popular award show this year for undisclosed reasons.
“Nobody has heard anything, neither has anyone whispered or shared information,”

“At the moment, the boss (Animashaun), is not saying anything to anyone, and nobody knows what will happen”, a source told Pulseng.
It will be the first time the award event wont be holding in its 10-year span, if confirmed.

Founded in 2006 by Hip Hop World Magazine of Nigeria in a bid to recognize great works in the flexible Nigerian music industry.
The annual ceremony is broad casted exclusively on music channel HipTV.
A biting economy recession in Nigeria might be a factor for its snub, as the failing economy has already affected similar award shows in Nigeria.

The Nigeria Music Video Awards (NMVA), failed to hold last year due to lack of sponsorship (Winners were announced but with no ceremony).
Despite Headies having a self-acclaimed tag as an award of prestige in Nigeria, it has had its own fair share of controversies.
In 2013, reggae-dancehall singer Burna Boy stormed out of the event after losing out to
Sean Tizzle .

The 2015 edition was even more colorful.

It witnessed fierce clashes from the music big guns in Nigeria, including Don Jazzy and
Olamide , after Mavin Record’s Reekado Banks won the ‘Next Rated’ award over YBNL rapper,
Lil Kesh.

Luyukab blog will update on this story when we get more information.

You Better Release Nnamdi Kanu Before He Becomes A Hero, Charles Soludo Warns Buhari

The former Governor of CBN made the demand today at the presentation a book entitled, ‘The Politics of Biafra and the Future of Nigeria,’ written by Chudi Offodile, Punchng reports.

He said Kanu was not popular until security agents arrested him last year. He recalled that Chief Obafemi Awolowo was imprisoned for treason in the 1960s, but this caused him to be loved even more among the Yoruba.
Soludo said Kanu’s prolonged detention would make him a hero or a martyr, which would not stop the current Biafran agitation. He warned that if Kanu was not released, his detention could be used as a campaign tool in 2019, just as the pardoning of Ojukwu was used by Shagari to gain support in the 1980s.
