Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has lamented his side’s schedule of games in October.
United are expected to face Liverpool, Fenerbahce, Chelsea and Manchester city in nine days next month. Mourinho admits he is unhappy with the club’s schedule of matches, insisting they could have played on other days.
He said: ‘We could play Liverpool on the Saturday, we could play Liverpool on the Sunday but we play Liverpool on the Monday,’
‘We have this kind of poisoned gift of playing on Monday which creates a very difficult situation but we want to try to qualify for the next round.
‘There’s a long way to go but we will play against Fenerbahce with a good team.’
The Premier League has often been criticised for its schedule of matches due to the fact that most clubs involved in European competitions have to play quite a number of games within a short space.
