Ondo Governor, Olusegun Mimiko of the People’s Democratic Party has technically thrown the first jab at Akeredolu by discouraging people from voting the All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming election in the state.
Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State has advised people of the state against voting for the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the upcoming governorship election in the state.
APC is currently being tipped to oust the People’s Democratic Party with a former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Rotimi Akeredolu leading the ‘broom army’ to sweep votes in the November 26 gubernatorial election.
Mimiko who has been accused of imposing his stooge, Eyitayo Jegede on his party made the revelation while speaking at the presentation of cheques to beneficiaries of the CBN/ODSG Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Fund during which he reiterated that APC has nothing to offer the state.
Mimiko said, “You should open your eyes wide now, we said it that time, yet people voted for them, see what they are doing to Nigerians, in the last one year, we have seen nothing.
“We should not allow APC’s ‘Change’ in Ondo State, I will not say much but it is what all of us can see in their government, so there is no way for APC in Ondo State.”
Meanwhile, Mimiko who attended Akeredolu’s birthday in July was alleged to have indirectly endorsed him while delivering a lengthy speech on their relationship during their days at the University of Ife now Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State where they served as Student Union Leaders.
